- Households with their activities contribute to the emission of Carbon Dioxide (CO In conclusion, Sindudadi households have consequtive average emission and sequestration, also minimum land area as follows 7098,98 kgCO 2) SEQUESTRATION OPTIMISATION AT SINDUDADI VILLAGE, MLATI RESIDENCE, SLEMAN REGION, YOGYAKARTA By: Laily Agustina Rahmawati, Eko Haryono, dan Chafidz Fandeli. Environmental Science Department, School of Postgraduate Study UGM 2), this will trigger global warming. Because of this, based on pollution pay principle households should have responsible for derived emission in land conservation form. This study aimed to analyse emission avarage and sequestration avarage, to define minimum land area that should be conserved for each household group Upper Economy Class (KEA-Power>1300 VA), Middle Economy Class (KEM-Power 900 VA), Lower Economy Class (KEA-Power 450 VA) at Sindudadi Village, Mlati Residence, Sleman Region, D.I. Yogyakarta. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Emission is counted based on household activities related with electricity consumption, fuel consumption for transportation, gas consumption for cooking, solid waste production, and clean water consumption. Informations gathered from questionaires is multiplied by CO2 emission conversion factor. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Sequestration counted based on biomasses which are kept by household on their vegetated land (backyard, paddy field, garden). Biomass estimation resulted by using Brown method (1997) and Hairiah (2007). This is done by doing nested quadrat sampling for each kind vegetated land on every household. Minimum area and land optimisation counted based on CO2 household emission and biomasses per m 2 land. 2/year, 267,34 kgCO2/ year, and 178,11 m2 with land optimisation level very optimum (vegetation land cover 90%) on yard land for KEA households
