  • Pharmacy is place for doing pharmaceutical work, distribution of pharmaceutical preparation and other health supplies to society. In addition, pharmacy is a business unit so it requires planning and management to obtain profit to cover operational cost and keep it continuity. One of important aspects is location. Selection of location of pharmacy will determine distribution, related to amount and even distribution. It will affect community as end user using pharmacy service. The objective of this research was to identify distribution and factors influencing selection of pharmacy location and consumer consideration in selecting pharmacy service. It used qualitative method with case study approach. Data was obtained with field observation, interview and documentation. Field observation was done to obtain pharmacy coordinate point that will be processed with secondary data (result of documentation) using geographical information system so pharmacy distribution description is resulted. In-depth interview was done on pharmacy owner to consider factors affecting selection of pharmacy location. Interview was done on consumers to identify factor of pharmacy service selection. Results of the research indicated that pharmacy distribution in Bandar Lampung was concentrated in Tanjung Karang Pusat having high population density, population, and health facility function index. Most pharmacies (81.82%) were located in 5 meters from main road in Bandar Lampung. Selection of pharmacy location tended to relate to existence of consumer target and accessibility. Consumerâ��s pharmacy service selection was influenced by one or more retail mix such as accessibility, relatively cheaper drug price, drug completeness, good service, and cooperation between working place and pharmacy.
