Daftar Isi:
  • The train is one of public transportation that provides executive services, using air conditioning to provide comfort to passengers. The temperatures inside one of the train which was measured directly were 21 o C and 25 o C. Temperature 21 o C highly cool rated by passengers and comfortable temperature is 25 o C. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of temperature, clothing and gender on short-term memory. This research involved ten people consisting of five men and five women, physically and mentally health, with age 20.6 (SD 0.69) years, height 166.1 (SD 5.7) cm and weight 61.5 (SD 15.5) kg, and they did not have impaired vision and hearing. Software measurement tool used short-term memory span of design tools, namely with 7 rows of random numbers. The clothing is used that 1 Clo and 0.5 Clo, while for the temperature used 21 o C and 25 o C. Data results of this research were analyzed by three-factor ANOVA. Short-term memory performance based from the variation of temperature, clothing and gender did not give significantly different results. The interaction between temperature and wear, temperature and gender as well as clothing and gender do not have a significant influence on short-term memory.
