- The increases of population growth also increase the need for adequate housing. To reduce the number of casualties and damage caused by the earthquake, it is necessary that the quality of building materials products are guaranteed. For this reason, testing was conducted on the strength of walls with various retrofitting concrete bricks like using a plaster. This study aims to deteremine the moment capacity by retrofitting concrete bricks plaster walls 1. 2 and 3 cm then applied to the type of housing 60 to determine the applicable earthquake region. In this study created 4 test groups of concrete bricks wall, namely: the concrete bricks wall without plaster (TP), with 1 cm plaster strengthening (P-1), 2 cm (P-2) and 3 cm (P-3). Each group has three specimens. Plaster was given in 1 Pc: 6 Ps ratio. The concrete bricks wall dimension was (1790 x 590 x 140) mm. The testing results were processed in order to obtain moment capacity resisted by the wall. The wall is applied with a simple one-storey house type 60, the forces that occur on the wall due to the load were analyzed using SAP2000 program, with thick plaster variations and earthquake zones. The result of the test showed that the flexure moment capacity of concrete bricks wall with strengthening plaster incrase. Average moment capacity of concrete masonry without plaster (TP) was obtained 3.157 KNm/m. The strengthening plaster was increased the moment capacity in 1 to 2 times. SAP2000 calculation results, maximum moment was occurred at the walls of simple one-story house type 60 using concrete bricks wall with 1 cm plaster strengthening (P-1) can be applied to the earthquake zone III medium soil type, 2 cm plaster strengthening (P-2) can be applied to the earthquake zone IV medium soil type, 3 cm plaster strengthening (P-3) can be applied to the earthquake zone III medium soil type and without plaster strengthening (TP) can be applied to the earthquake zone III hard soil type.
