  • Walls of the building are no longer dominated bricks from the clay were produced by traditional means. Bricks that currently used are concrete bricks (bataton) product manufacturers. The manufacture product was chosen by consumers because it has better quality and through testing and research process. Buildings that use this concrete bricks need to be tested when it was built in certain of earthquake area. This study aims to determine the moment capacity concrete bricks wall with a diameter of strengthening horizontal reinforcement, 3 mm, 4.5 mm and 6 mm. It will be applied to the simple residential buildings type 45 to determine the earthquake zone that can be applied. This study was prepared four types test specimens of concrete bricks wall, namely: concrete bricks wall without strengthening (TP), concrete bricks wall with a diameter of strengthening horizontal reinforcement, 3 mm (DBT-1), 4.5 mm (DBT-2) and 6 mm (DBT-3). Interface was made of mortar 1Pc : 6Ps. Size of concrete bricks wall specimen respectively has length 1790 mm, width 590 mm, and thick 140 mm. Concrete bricks walls was tested with static lateral loading perpendicular field wall. The test results were processed to obtain the moment capacity that can be borne the wall. The result of this research can be applied for simple one-storey house type 45. Forces that occurred in the wall due to the load were analyzed using SAP2000 program with variations in diameter of reinforcement and earthquake zones. Average moment capacity of concrete masonry without reinforcement (TP) was obtained 3.16 KNm/m. The strengthening of horizontal reinforcement was increased the moment capacity of 8.75%. SAP2000 calculation results, maximum moment was occurred at the walls of simple one-story residential buildings type 45 using concrete bricks wall with a diameter of strengthening horizontal reinforcement 3 mm can be applied to the earthquake zone 4 types of soft ground, diameter of 4.5 mm can be applied to the earthquake zone 6 types of soft ground, and diameter of 6 mm can be applied to the earthquake zone 6 types of soft ground.
