  • The use of composite resins as restorative materials has increased. Resin composites are preferred because of the nanofiller composite resin filler are small so as to provide a good surface smoothness. The success of composite resin restorations is influenced by a good polishing. This research is to know the difference of surface roughness nanohibrid nanofiller composite resin that is polished using one step system, multiple step, and without polishing. Research using resin composite cylindrical specimens 5 mm in diameter 2 mm high, 15 and 15 nanofiller composite resin composite resin nanohibrid each divided into groups I, II, III, nanofiller and group IV, V, VI nanohibrid with each group 5 study subjects. All the study subjects and included artificial saliva soaked incubator 37 ° 24 hours, then I do not polished group, group II system one step, multiple step systems group III, group IV is not polished, one step system of group V, group VI multiple step system, then surface roughness measured by stylus profilometer, the data in units of Ra. To determine the effect of polishing systems on surface roughness of resin composite data were analyzed with two-way ANOVA with 95% significance level (α 5%) and continued multiple Tukey. The mean surface roughness of composite resins are as follows nanofiller without polishing, 0.082 ± 0.00758, the system one step 0.260 ± 0.01696, the system multiple step 0.121 ± 0.01194, with no polishing composite resin nanohibrid 0.172 ± 0.01037, the system one step 0.306 ± 0.00962, multiple step system and 0.232 ± 0.01037 with Anova test the influence of different polishing systems on surface roughness of composite resin significant (p <0.05), with Tukey multiple surface roughness difference between the treatment groups were significant (p <0, 05). In conclusion both surface roughness nanofiller composite resin and polished nanohibrid are not better than the polished and the highest roughness on the polished nanohibrid with multiple step system.
