- ASEAN Open Sky 2015 is the needs and opportunities of globalization must be addressed positively. Sriwijaya Air as the airline industry must prepare well by implementing various strategies to win the competition among domestic and regional airlines. This paper will discuss how best to Sriwijaya Air. formulate strategies that will be applied to achieve a position in the structure of the airline industry today, especially in the Open Sky Policy and face the competition in the industry for scheduled domestic flights in Indonesia. The most important part in deciding the strategy is how close the company can identify its internal and eksternal factors. The factors represent its stregths and weaknesses. The company should understand and predict its external factors which represent its opportunities and threats. The analysis is known as SWOT analysis. After analysing the factors the company will know its position in competition and understand what will be reached in the future. In reaching the goals the company should deciding what the most appropiate strategy will be applied. In this thesis the writer offers a formulation strategy to position the organization above Sriwijaya competitors and become "the preferred airlines of customer whose application is divided into several derivatives strategy that is a safety strategy, operations, commercial, Maintenance, finance, and human resources.
