  • Flavonoids have been isolated from the root of mahkota dewa, obtained from Sleman. The isolation was done by maceration using methanol was followed with the fractionation using n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and isobutanol. Then, the ethyl acetate extract was separated by column chromatography, thin layer chromatography, recrystallized and was indentified using UV, IR, 1H-NMR and 13CNMR spektrometer. The selection of the eluent for the column chromatography was based on TLC analysis, and the column was eluted with SGP, started from the less polar eluent, to the polar one chloroform 100%, chloroform: ethyl acetate (9.5 : 0.5), chloroform : ethyl acetate (8.5: 1.5), chloroform: ethyl acetate (7:3), chloroform: ethyl acetate (6 : 4) and chloroform: ethyl acetate (5 : 5). The results was obtained four fractions which have RF 0.78, 0.75, 0.85 and 0.80. The results of the identification of n-hexane extract of the root of the mahkota dewa with the GC-MS, GC chromatogram showed 28 peaks, but after tracking and library approaches can be identified nine peaks namely, propyl acrylate, 1,2- metylenedioxy-5,6-dimetoxy-4-allylbenzene, beta-eudesmol, methyl palmitate, palmitinic acid, (oleic acid, methyl ester), butyl heksadecanoate, linoleic acid and octadecyl propunoate. According to the UV and IR analyses, it was obtained four flavonoid compounds which was identified using 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR, there are two flavone, flavonol and isoflavone, flavonoid fraction 5 was estimated to have the structure of compound 5,4â��, dihydroxy-7-methoxyflovone with the 0.0029% rendemen yield.
