Daftar Isi:
- This study aims to develop a capsule shell from goat skin gelatin (GSG). Materials being used in this study was goat skin of Bligon male. The experimental design applied in this study was CRD factorial 2x2x3 with 3 replications. While the treatment applied in the study were two types of curing material : (CH3COOH 0.5M) and Ca(OH)2 100 g/L), two curing periods (2 and 4 days) and three concentration of materials for curing (3,6 and 9% v/v). Factorial design a 3x3 from CRD with 3 replications, each : three levels of GSG (9, 10 and 11% w/v) and three levels of glycerol (80, 90 and 100 percents of the total GSG) used to making edible films. Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method used to process optimization of filler (MgCO3, tapioca and sago) in the manufacture of capsule shells. The optimum production process of GSG obtained from the use of alkali (Ca(OH)2 100 g/L), for 4 days and 9% concentration. Combination of (GSG : glycerol) (10% : 90 percents of the total GSG) was produces edible film with the best properties. The formula (10 g of GSG + 9 g of glycerol + 22.4 mg of MgCO3 + 5.5 mg of tapioca + 72.1 mg of sago) was produces goat skin gelatin capsule (GSGC) shell that similar to the commercial capsule with average weight of 166.9 ± 15.38 mg and dissolution efficiency for 30 minutes (DE30) of paracetamol of 42.24%.
