- Backgrounds: Adolescent is a transition from kids to adult. Some problems can be happened at this transition process. Participation of parents are needed as one who accompanies adolescent to face the changes that are happened at their life. But every time, parents exactly don�t understand the condition of adolescent, so they are not very close anymore. It can cause negative impact to harmony of their relationship and also cause the emotional problem. The condition of family that is in enmity continuously. critic, and not stable are considered as all sorts of reasons the rise of kids and adolescent depression. Intimacy between parents and adolescent is needed so parents can do their duty as caretaker in adolescent�s life, so they can face the pressures that can cause depression of adolescent. Objective: For knowing intimacy relationship between parents ( father and mother)- adolescent of depression�s tendency of adolescent. Methods: This research is non-experimental which observational quality use cross-sectional design that has analytic descriptive character. Populations of this research were eleventh students of SMA Negeri I Magelang, samples are taken from all population that fulfill criteria of inclusion. The measurement of intimacy between father and adolescent, and intimacy between mother and adolescent are measured by Intimacy between Parents and Adolescent Instruments. Tendency of adolescent�s depression are measured by Inventory of Adolescent�s Depression. Statistical analysis test which was used was multivariate regression linier test. Data were analyzed by correlation test of spearman, chi square, and logistic regression. Results: There are many significant correlations between parents� intimacy and the tendency of adolescent�s depression. Intimacy between adolescent and father against tendency of adolescent�s depression have points r=-0,520 and p<0,05 and intimacy between adolescent and mother against tendency of depressions have points r=0,505 and p<0,05. If there were equaled by the other factors, so psychosocial stressor factor, an intimacy with mother factor, and a living place factor have significant correlation.
