Daftar Isi:
  • Kotabaru has rich archeological resources which are mostly Indis buildings. At the beginning, they were functioned as house facilities built by the Dutch colonial government. Nowadays, however, the area in Kotabaru has become increasingly crowded by economic activities. As a result, there are some significant changes in the area. This undesirable phenomenon has resulted in the decrease of the quality of the buildings, and some are in a state of critically endangered. Since the Indis buildings have been served as facilities for many functions, they have now finite number available, unrenewable, and fragile characteristics as well. Therefore, it is vitally important to apply conservation aspects in further utilization the buildings. This conservation aspect is not only applied to physical aspects, but also on the values within them. Thus the usage of the buildings is expected to apply balances in their further utilization. The method applied in this research covers obtaining primary data by tracing related literature, field survey, interviewing the key respondents, and choosing the samples. The next stage is data evaluation, data analysis and presentation, which cover five consecutive steps, namely: 1) identifying the Indis building in the area of Kotabaru
