  • This research aimed to know how law protection for electricity customer consumer towards electricity crisis that happened at city of Ambon and law effort taken by consumers against losses caused by the electricity crisis at the city of Ambon. Appropriate with substance problems of law which will studied in this research, so the character of this research is normatif-empiris, namely an research in law area which studying rules of positive law and also principles of justice and fact in the field. Data which used is primary data which obtained from research at field, by interview informant and responder, and questionnaires to consumer as a means of collected data. This field research is done at PT. PLN (Persero) Moluccas Area and North Moluccas, Branch Ambon and NGO Yayasan Suara Hati at Ambon. Despitefully, sekunder data is got from literature research with document study as a means of research to get data. Based on result of this research it was identified that, 1) law protection for electricity customer consumer at city of Ambon not yet formed. According to electricities power law and also consumer protection law, consumers are entitled to good service, getting electric supply continually with good reliability and quality, also get correct information of condition and guarantee of goods and/or service which consumed. But, in reality still happened infringement to the consumer rights. 2) Since early electricity crisis happened, there is never from consumer side which submit lawsuit to demand accomplishment their rights. The obstacle of consumer is a weak position also that the law aid so minimum in city of Ambon. But in the early year 2010, then there is breakthrough from LBH FH Unpatti conducting delegation suing (class action) relating to the electricity crisis and efforts to fight for consumer rights which are violated.
