  • Although in general the social protection is very minimal and the Wiyata Bhakti teacher profession is marginalized, but this is still become stepping stone of hope for some people. For most people, there are several reasons to decide undergoing profession as a Wiyata bhakti teacher. Some of the reasons were the desire to get social status, requirement to continue studying at the Open University (UT), the desire to subjugate knowledge that has been gained during in college, hope for career in his hometown, encouragement from an outside party or its own initiative, orientation of the Civil Servants (PNS), salary orientation, to benefit the leisure time, to use accessibility and opportunity. One areas with Wiyata Bhakti teachers who have the reasons are Sub district of Cipari, Cilacap Regency. Basically, this study explain further how the survival strategies of a Wiyata Bhakti teachers in maintaining the existence of the community life. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. Sources of data in this research are the Wiyata Bhakti teachers that determined by using the snow ball technique. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews, observation and documentation.The type of data in this research is any statement or action of the Wiyata bhakti teachers (primary data) and data on the Wiyata Bhakti teachers and profile of Cipari District (secondary data). The data analysis techniques are reduction, display data, and conclussion/verification. The results showed that the structural-functionalism, four functional in the action system requirements pressing the Wiyata bhakti teachers in implementing the survival strategic. The functional adaptation needs require the Bhakti Wiyata teachers to work in professional and also has a second job to meet the needs of the economy. The functional goal aatainment needs require the Wiyata bhakti teachers to pursue postgraduate studies in accordance with the specified qualifications. Functional integration needs require Wiyata bhakti teachers to perform survival in an integrated strategy. The functional latency needs Pressing of Wiyata bhakti teachers to marry and share roles between husband and wife, applying frugal lifestyle, savings habits, the credit system to meet needs and build their own families independently. Based on research results, the researchers recommend that: (1) It is necessary to the evaluation of government policies related to the LPTK performance wich has been producing educational workforce without control and the weak of education qulity control (2) It is necessary the presence of government policy that regulates on the Wiyata bhakti teachers, (3) The Government should optimize economic institutions performance at the bottom, (4) It is necessary the presence of entrepreneurship materil in the curriculum of the teacher education colleges. (5) the Wiyata bhakti teachers should be more creative in using economic strategies in an effort to get additional revenue.
