  • Integrated System of Cattle and Oil Palm (SISKA) is a program which integrates livestock rearing, i.e. beef cattle, and plantation crop cultivation, i.e. oil palm based on the concept of locating and rearing cattle without reducing the activity and productivity of the crops. This integration of livestock and plantation crops is conducted by utilizing plantation byproduct as fodder, and animal manures as crop fertilizer based on the âzero wasteâ approach. The SISKA program is a program inseparable from community participation in its implementation approach. The present research aims to provide understanding on the integration between beef cattle rearing and oil palm plantation, and to identify the form and level of community participation in SISKA program implementation.
