  • Background : DM type 2 with complications dislipidemia is a strong risk factor to make morbidities and mortalities. So that need rational treatment to patient include exactly indication, exactly patient, exactly medicine, exactly dozes and life expectancy. Objective : This study aimed to evaluate the use of oral hypoglycemic drugs with complications of dyslipidemia which is expected to improve treatment success and minimize unwanted effects. Methods: The study was conducted using a descriptive design which was done in a retrospective analysis to determine how effective the use of oral hypoglycemic drugs with complications of dyslipidemia in Panti Rapih Hospital of Yogyakarta. Collecting data by looking at medical records of patients. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The qualitative data in the form of picture hypoglycemic drug use and anti dislipidemia DM patients type 2 with complications of dyslipidemia. Quantitative data is percentage of exactly patient, exactly medication, exactly dosage and effectiveness of oral hypoglycemic drugs and anti dislipidemia. Results and Conclusion : Retrospective study of 50 patients, the number of male patients were 23 patients (46%), women were 27 patients (54%). Patients were < 45 years old amounted to 13 people (26%), 45-65 years old were 28 persons (56%) and >65 years old were 9 person (18%). Oral hypoglycemic drug that is widely used is a combination of glibenclamide and metformin therapy as many as 19 cases (58%). Biguanid (metformin) in 4 cases (8%), sulfonylureas in 4 cases (8%). The use of oral hypoglycemic medications appropriate patients 44 patients (88%), inappropriate patient 6 patients (12%). Appropriate medication 40 patients (80%), inappropriate drug 10 patients (20%) and exactly dose 38 patients (76%), improper dose 12 patients (24%). Dyslipidemia drug that is widely used is simvastatin as many as 27 cases (54%), atorvastatin 8 cases (16%), fibrat acid (fenovibrat) were 4 cases (8%), combination therapy 10 cases (20%). The effectiveness of oral hypoglycemic drugs as many as 8 cases (16%), ineffective 42 cases (84%), while the effectiveness of dyslipidemia drugs were 15 cases (30%), ineffective 35 cases (70%).
