- This research attempted to analyze assets stock-taking executed by the local government in Gayo Lues District. The data used in this research were secondary data consisting of SIMA BMD and GLDA (Gayo Lues Dalam Angka) of Gayo Lues District and primary data by using the purposive sampling technique with samples consisting of 40 respondents at DPKD Gayo Lues District. There were four variables: data, codes, subdividing, and record-keeping. All variables were measured by using Likert five-scale score. Research found inaccurate data in stock-taking, weakness of the personnel in asset management and many assets did not have clear legality. The data collecting system executed by the Government of Gayo Lues District has not been done structurally and the data about the assets were just obtained from each work unit. To manage the assets well, we need rules about codification in asset stock-taking, and grouping them into mobile and immobile assets. So far, the reporting has been done manually. The lack of data base and good information system becomes a constraint in managing the district assets. We need to develop a computerized Asset Management Information System (SIMASET) in order to support asset inventory to achieve autonomy.
