- As the continued increase in world population, market demand for commodity cacao (Theobroma cacao L.), also will increase. One of matter to increase cacao production is to expand planting area. Development of land cacao can not be separated from the land availability. In Aceh, central of cacao development located in Sub-province of Pidie. To determine the potential of an area for cacao development, land suitability evaluation is required. Today, cacao development has not been realized based on land suitability class. The purposes of the study are firstly to determine the land suitability class of cacao, secondly, to know the effect of land characteristics for the development of cacao farming and obtained a feasibility level, and thirdly, land use optimize based on land suitability class. Case study executed in Dictrict of Batee and District of Padang Tiji in Subprovince of Pidie. Land suitability class is obtained by comparing the physical and chemical characteristic of existing land from farming system land along with overlapping of suitable maps as according to growth standard of cacao with using ArcGIS. Furthermore, calculated rates of cacao farming feasibility and optimization done using the POM-QM (Production and Operation Management- Quantitative Methods) for Windows to obtain the optimum land with maximum profit. Result of land suitability in District of Batee are: class S1 (very suitable) in the level of 35,42% (2.572,622 ha)
