- The problem of multiculturalism and intercultural relation occur not only between the white race and the color people, but this plurality issue also exists among the same race. In regarding the issues, this research aims to understand the impact of intercultural relation in a multicultural group on the development of one�s personality. The data of this study are taken from two films created by a famous French director, Cédric Klapisch. Film L�Auberge Espagnole and it�s sequel Les Poupées Russes will be analyzed by its cinematographic signs using the theory of film semiotics. The representation of multicultural life especially in Modern Europe era naming Eropean Union in which is reflected on the life of the characters in the movies selected will be divided into several layers, such as the conflicts of cultural encounter on the form of linguistic obstacles in an intercultural relation, the negotiation of self and social identity in a multicultural group and the forms of the conflict resolution presented within the selected movies.
