- Asset of a region can be developed by utilizing existing natural resources and optimize the management of the asset. Asset management is a necessity for developing an area for more directional planning. In our country, the term asset management is still unfamiliar. This study attempts to create a case study of two asset types that have been known to the public namely �Magelang Kyai Langgeng park� and Taman Pintar Yogyakarta. Becoming a landmark asset in both cities, these assets are quite attractive to be studied. The purpose of this study is to see how the asset management is applied and what factors underlying it. This study used an inductive qualitative approach, by interviewing relevant parties, gathering documents and doing some field observations. The results showed that there were some differences in the management of these two assets. Although both engaged in public services but there were different in their management
