- Waste industrial activities and technologies is an issue that is processing environments that reduce the impact of environmental pollution. PT. Barawaja is a company that produces steel industry and gas industry which needs more serious treatment of the iron slag produced to be handled and used properly. The purpose of this study to determine the technical properties of concrete mixtures made from iron slag industry include compressive strength, porosity and the rate of leaching, find solutions for environmental management of environmentally friendly and economic feasibility of using iron slag as concrete aggregate. The research shows that substitution of coarse aggregate in concrete with quality K-175 the composition of the split : iron slag that is 0 %: 100 %. Determination of the composition is based on the compressive strength the maximum value of 20.49 MPa with the lowest porosity value of 0.74%. TCLP test results, the element of harmful chemical compounds are dissolved is very small compared to before the iron slag aggregate serves as a substitution.
