- Today Education Department more incentive to improve the quality of the education in the country, one of the steps taken is to change the education system to international standards. Gradually the government change the old school into an International School Standards (ISS). SMA N 5 Mataram is one of the schools who eventually turned into an ISS. SMA N 5 Mataram was changed since last year. Furthermore, in connection with the change in this system there are some changes in the process of new admissions process itself, which was only based on the value of the UN, now the selection process is based on additional criterias that better reflects the overall ability of prospective students as report card and academic tests. Therefore, there are several important issues relating to the admission of new students themselves. First, the time required to perform the process of selection in the presence of additional criteria are needed. The selection process running now is all done manually, so it takes a long time. Second, the subjectivity of the committee on prospective students. Related to this, several questions are arise: How to reduce the time for selection? How to remove subjectivity in the selection process in order to obtain more objective results?. In this thesis, the author tried to analyze those issues to build a decision support system for new admissions by using the method of Fuzzy Multi Attribute Decission Making (FMADM), which is expected to help the performance of new admissions executive committee at SMA N 5 Mataram became better. By this representation of FMADM, the decision maker can determine quickly the ranking order of all candidate new admissions and then select easily the best of them due to number needed.
