- Related to KPPTJ (Long-Term Education Development Framework) which represents a strategic direction on the administration of higher education in Indonesia, which aims to provide general guidance to universities in anticipation of the changes that occur in both domestic and global environment. The world of education has a very big challenge them is the role of education in preparing qualified human resources, civil society involvement in the establishment of an independent and eclectic, as well as the role of education in sustaining development with science and technology. To face these challenges, UMM as one private university in Indonesia will need support of good information systems, so that all activities undertaken can be run efficiently, effectively, improve the quality of education and service and also to increase competitive advantage. The process to determine this information system requires a deep understanding of strategic planning of information systems, for investments made in accordance with what the expectations. The material contained in this research is the result of a process that occurs in the activities of academic information systems. Strategic planning of information systems at UMM using Ward and Peppard method, with analysis tools such as SWOT, PEST, Porter's 5 Force and Mc Farland's Strategic. The result is a recommendation for UMM, where in it there are some things that should be considered for the development of information systems within the UMM in the future. Some of these include application portfolio coming to UMM and the roadmap implementation. It should be noted for information system that will be applied later to run correctly and in accordance with what is expected.
