  • Endodontically treated teeth more susceptible to fracture. Correct restoration can minimize fracture risk, for example crown and post-core systems. Based on manufacturing, Fiber reinforced composite post divided into prefabricated and fabricated. The objective of this study was to evaluate fracture resistance differences between prefabricated and fabricated fiber reinforced post systems on different post canal width. The samples of this study were 28 mandibullary premolars that were coronally removed so apicocoronally length was 15 mm. The samples was treated endodontically conventional method with gutta percha and resin sealer. The samples divided into two group based on canal width, 14 each group. In group one root canal were prepared so that post canal width was 1,4 mm while group two canal width was 2,1 mm. Each group divided into two group : A. prefabricated post used, B. fabricated post used. Samples were loaded to failure with a Universal Testing Machine. The result of this research showed that there was a fracture resistance differences on different post canal width, there was no fracture resistance differences between prefabricated post and fabricated post, and there was no interaction between post type and post canal width toward fracture resistance.
