- Background: Leukocyte is a key aspect of the protective response against invading microorganisms, but over recent years, evidence that leukocytes In cerebrospinal fluid also contribute importantly to outcome in bacterial meningitis Is controverslonal. Objectives: Tomeasure the mean dlfferents of leukocyte counts in cerebrospinal fluid between survivour meningitis children with non survlvour meningitis children and to measure the role of leukocyte counts in cerebrospinal fluid less than 100/mm3 is a non survivour predictor. Methods: This study Is a prospective cohort. The subjects in this study are bacterial meningitis patients that appropiate with ellgellbllity criteria. Results: There is ,the mean dlfferents of leukocyte counts In cerebrospinal fluid between survivor with non survivor meningitis children (p=O,02).Leukocyte counts In cerebrospinal fluid less than 100/mm3 is not a non survivour predictor bacterial meningitis children (RR=O,97,95% CI=O.33-2.85. p=O.95). Conclusions: There is the mean dlfferents of leukocyte counts in cerebrospinal fluid between survivour with non survlvour meningitis children. Leukocyte counts in cerebrospinal fluid less than 100/mm3 is not a non survlvour predictor bacterial meningitis children. Keywords: Bacterial Meningitis Children.
