- The welding process is usually performed for joining, similar material.This research aims to study similar metals at low carbonese ST 37 with friction welding method. Traditional welding the electrode used, than welding result dirty, slag, crack and also deformation cause residual stress usually. The friction welding (FW) methods, without electrode. In this research will low Carbonese steel ST 37 was used with face area various, heat generate caused friction face to face of the metals , the frictions Lathe Machines was used. The Result of there search showed that joining is clean , nothing slag,nothing crack and porosity.The hardness 173 VHN (Nuget)Nuget, 171.2 (HAZ) and 166.5 (Parent Metal) at the Tyre Joining and than the Flat Joining is 226.57 VHN (Nuget), 229.45 (HAZ), and 234.2 VHN (Parents Metal) . The micro structure between Parent metal, HAZ, and weld metal was small difference.
