  • The aim of the study was to investigate the supplemental effect of indigenous probiotics lactic acid bacteria on intestinal histological structure and expression of tight juction molecule claudins in the ileum of broiler chicken raised for 35 days. A total of 60 days old chick birds of Lohmann strain broiler were randomly divided into four treatment groups, namely T0, T1, T2 and T3. The T0 group was maintained with unsupplemented probiotics, while T1, T2 and T3 were orraly supplemented with multistrain probiotics at the concentrations of 107, 108, 109 CFU/ml/bird/day, respectively. The results showed that supplementation of indigenous lactic acid bacteria probiotics significantly (P< 0.05) increased villus height and width. Expression of ileal claudin-1, -3,and -5 were higher in T1, T2 and T3 compared to that in T0, an unsupplemented birds.
