- Colourd-feather and slow-growing meat type chickens are mainly bred from the native chickens. A total of 50 DOC white colours feather were used to evaluate the growth rate of the chicken since DOC untul 12 weeks of age and the yield of carcass at 9 and 12 week of age. Broiler commercial feed were fed during DOC until six week old than continued with native chicken feed until 12 week of age. The chicken from each colour were randomly housed in litter cage 10 chicken per m2. The result showed that total feed consumption and feed conversion during 12 week experiment were not different. But body weight black colour at 4, 11, and 12 weeks was significantly higher than while colour feather. The yield of chicken carcasses was not different between black and white colour feathers. Chicken age carcasses were different between black and white colour feathers. Chickens age carcasses were different between 9 and 12 week slaughtered (P<0.01). It was concluded that black colour feather growing better than white colour feather but the carcasses yield were not different. Keyword : Colour Feather, Growth, Carcass yield
