ABSTRACT The research was aimed to find out the accuracy and the rrelation level of Landsat TM interpretation results, accuracy level of e mapping of the soil salinity distribution, and factors affecting the 'soil salinity distribution. The method used in this research was integration of remote pulsing and geographical information system. Primary data used in this research was digital image of channel-6 Landsat TM, aerial color anchromatic photos, and Topographic Map of Cilacap Region. The research outcomes showed that the interpretation result has accuracy rate of 77.72 % with correlation coefficient of 0.970",- and if°Value of 6.928". From an area of 15228.95 hectares being researched, it Was discovered that 27.29 % of the area was salt free
