  • ABSTRAK Twenty four Javanese thin-tail ewes (11, 9 and 4 ewes with 1, ~ and 3 litter size, respectively) were used to study energy status changes from gestation to laetation. During gestation, the experimental ewes were fed king grass hy ad libitum and 500g concentrate supplementation. During lactation half of the ewes were maintained in the 500g concentrate supplementation, while the other ewes were supplemented with 10001. Jlood samples were taken monthly for determination of beta-hydroxy butyric acid (BHBA) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) concentrations in the serum.
