- Pressure drop of fluid flow in a heat exchang , such as in a kettle reboiler, is one of the important parameters in defining the performance of the heat exchanger, The pressure drop is influenced by hydrodynamic properties of the flow in complex correlation especially for two-phase flow. Experiment on the static pressure drop of RI 13 which flows in vertical cross flow over a horizontal tube bundle has been done and reported here, The horizontal tube were designed to give uniform heat flux densities in Me range of 6 to 70 kW/in' The flow gives a mass velocity in the range of 200 up to 650 kg/m-dik, Combination of the heat flux and the mass velocity was controlled to give the variation of the quality of the two-phase flow around the tubes. Measurement of the static pressure drop were done by means of U-tube differential pressure completed with a pressure transmitter, Prediction of the pressure drop is formulated by accumulation of three components
