- Abstract Opportunity to work overseas is considered as one of alternatives in solving emplOyment problems in Indonesia. On the other hand, the opportunity is often viewed as a lucrative business. This point of view has caused Indonesian migrant workers left unprotected In a materialistic and capitalistic society, appreciation toward the migrant workers is unequal with their contributions. It is often the case that migrant workers do nol have access to justice. Considering the vulnerability of the migrant workers, this article argues that protection and advocacy for the migrant workers are a must The discussion will be conducted as follows: firstIv, it will start from the polic,- to send the migrant workers abroad Secondly it will discuss about problems that the migrant workers may encounter in their working countries. Thirdly it will discuss about protection and advocacy upon the migrant workers, and also related institutions that responsible to the migrant workers.
