- Deforestation and intensive land use on a national scale have resulted in watershed deterioration and threatened municipal and irrigation reservoirs. Watershed rehabilitation programs must allocate funds to prioritize projects. In many developing countries, the data required for a detailed analysis is often unavailable. Therefore, a practical, low cost approach or tool for integrating biological and physical considerations in an economic analysis of proposed watershed programs is needed. The overview tool for decision makers is applied to a case study of proposed watershed programs in the Upper Citarum Watershed, West Java.
