- Abstract This study aimed to describe the technical and economical aspects of intensive culture of tiger prawn, white shrimp and blue shrimp in brackish water pond. The results in this study were expected to be primary information for coastal zone management in, particularly,. Situbondo regency and the other areas which in developing the intensive shrimp pond. The results of this study showed that (1) Technically, white shrimp culture proved to be more success shrimp culture than either tiger prawn or blue shrimp cultures. (2) Production cost of blue shrimp was highest than that of the others, and (3) Income from blue shrimp culture was also highest than that of from the others. However, the average profit in tiger prawn culture was highest comparing to the profit in the other cultures. Based on this study, the diversification of shrimp culture is recommended for an intensive shrimp culture, as in the paddy farmers who have applied a crop pattern for their cultivation.
