- Abstract Klabat Bay consist of two areas, inner and outer part. There was a tin mining in the inner part of the bay. Tanjung Melala and Penyusu located in the outer part of the bay were the growth area of seaweeds. The objective of this research was to evaluate the suitability of Klabat bay for a seaweed culture area. This research was conducted in Tanjung Melaia and Penyusu by transect method. Physical parameters were also observed in this evaluation. Results indicated that Tanjung Melala and Penyusu might be suitable for seaweed culture area. Key words: culture area, Klabat bay, seaweed
