- Abstract This study was conducted to know the prevalence and degree of infection of Myxobolus sp. in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) fry in Sleman regency (Cangkringan, Kalasan, Ngemplak, and Turi sub districts). The selection of sub districts used purposive sampling based on the difference of water quality. Fish sampling was conducted in June and December 2001. Data were analysed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and regression analysis.The results showed that the prevalence of Myxobolus sp. in Cangkringan, Kalasan, Ngemplak, and Turi sub districts were 10%, 36.67%, 1.67%, and 26.67%, respectively. Regression analysis indicated that pH influenced the prevalence of Myxobolus sp. in Sleman regency.The degree of infection of Myxobolus sp. in Cangkringan, Kalasan, Ngemplak, and Turi sub districts were 3
