  • Abstract: A study on the characterization of silver ion selective electrodes (ISEs) using tetrakis(N-propyldihydrooxazine)-Cmethyl calix[4]resorcinarene as ionophore had been done. The quality of the ISEs was characterized by potentiometric selectivity coefficients, Nernst factor, dynamic range of measurement, and response times of the ISEs membranes. The result of research showed that the membrane with tetrakis(Npropyldihydrooxazine)-C-methyl calix[4]resorcinarene exhibits the value of the Nernst factor of 52 mV/ decade. The electrode is highly selective to silver ion in the presence of interfering ions and exhibits relatively fast average response time i.e. 40 seconds with concentration range of 10-3-101 M.
