  • ABSTRACT Background: There was a shift paradigm in health service practice incurred the collaboration within equity between doctors and nurses. In reality, however the nurses as profession or field of science was still in equal compare to doctor. It is paramount importance, therefore, to understand the collaboration practice and its influence fac¬tors. Objective: The study was aimed to: 1) determine the correlation between collabora¬tion practice with the communication and the practice domain, and the influence of its moderate factors, i.e. demography characteristic and individual economic needs, 2) determine the differences of collaboration practice in different patient group accord¬ing to their caring dependence. Methods: A cross sectional study design was used applying questionnaire and ob¬servation. The questionnaire modified from Sigler and Whitney was used to measure the collaboration practice intensity and its correlation with the communication and the practice domain, the number of samples is 30 doctors and 30 nurses. With nurses and doctors in VIP room as respondents. The data was analyzed using linear regres¬sion and double correlation. Observation method was used to observe the collabo¬ration practice in different patient group according to their caring dependence and the result was analyzed using Spearman Rank correlation. Result: Collaboration practice doctor and nurse cannot reach good collaboration stage, that cooperation stage. Correlation of communication and collaboration practice was significant (p0,05). Correlation of communication and collaboration practice was sig¬nificant (p
