- Background: The determining of organ volume and weight especially in the brain was very important in the post mortem autopsy. As the most common cause of death at the corpse obtained by autopsies was defect of human brain. Now days we have just only brain standard measure from study among the corpse in Europe. The aim of the study was to found out standard measure reference of the brain volume and weight in Indonesian people. Methods: A document review was conducted to ward eligible reward of visum et repertum which was made in the Department of Medical forensic Sardjito between 1997-2001. The data of the brain volume and weight, which was based on sex, was analyzed by student t-test and Anova analyzed the data based on age.
