- This article discusses some of the impacts of business environmental changes on the infrastructure of business law in Indonesia. The first part describes the degree to which globalized culture has influenced business environmental climates in the last decades. The second part gives a conceptional analysis of the role of law in national economic,development. The discussion starts with a brief description of a classical theory of law by Max Weber, and then goes on to discuss some arguments put forward by current authors. The third part explains the similarities and the differences between law and regulations. Analytical descriptions of the inherent weaknesses of a highly regulated economy (e.g. over-regulated and over-bureaucratization) are also presented. The last part of this article focuses on the impact of business environmental changes on the infrastructure of business law in Indonesia. The author points out some of the current weaknesses of the infrastructure of Indonesian law and presents some suggestions on how to improve the present system.
