- Background: Besides providing public service, Bakti Timah Hospital is a private hospital should also get profit to sustain its business. One of the hospital's sources is pharmacy department which is a profit center. The biggest income contribution of pharmacy department is from the drugstore. However, up to now, the number of general prescription from the hospital's drug¬store reaches 60% of the total prescriptions. Various attempts have been done but the results has not been satisfying. What factors cause patients take drugs outside of the hospital has not been identified. Objectives: This study was aimed at: (1) finding out factors of the high number of patients taking drugs outside of the hospital's drugstore based on 7 factors of services
