- ABSTRAK A case-control study on low birth weight has been conducted in the Bandongan Sub-district, Central Java. Among 1,028 live births in 1989, 49 were low birth weight. Age and height of mother, previous pregnancy historyand antenatal care practices were found to be highly correlated to low birth weight. While duration of pregnancy, birth weight and infant care practices were highly correlated to infant death. Key Words : low birth weight, risk factors, case-control study
