- ABSTRAK Intensive management of dengue haentorthagic fever (DHF) cases has significantly reduced mortality. Grade I and II DHF usually do not present problems in their management. DHF deaths are caused by shock, especially if complications occur. Understanding the pathomechanism is very important in the management of DHF. Based on the pathomechanism various management protocols have been tried, but only management of hypovolemic shock has proved successful and agreed by many investigators. The use of .corticosteroid and AC-17 have proved to be controversial. The management of DIC with heparin and/or transfusion has resulted in disagreement, as well. Careful monitoring is very important in the successful management Key Words :DHF mortality, hypovolemic shock, intensive monitoring
