- ABSTRAK Suatu penelitian telah dilakukan untuk mengolah limbah pail secara anaerobik dengan reaktor UASB (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket). Efisiensi pengolahan dimonitor dengan menganalisis influen dan effluen terhadap beberapa parameter seperti COD, SS, VSS, pH, produksi biogas serta kandungan VFA dan komposisinya. Untuk mengetahui kebutuhan nutrien, telah dianalisis pula ammonia-N den ortho-posfor- P. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metoda diatas dapat diterapkan secara efisien pada industri pail. ABSTRACT Anaerobic treatment of wastewater from starch industri was studied. The study anaerobic process using UASB, was aimed to explore the feasility of treating the starch wastewater and to determine the efficiency of the process. The following parameters were observed to follow the treatment processed to evaluate the efficiency of the process. COD, SS, VSS, VFA, pH as wit as the production and composition of biogas. Ammonia-N and 0-phosphorus-P were also observed to evaluate the nutritional status of the medium. The results obtained suggested that anaerobic process using UASB method was promissing in the treatment of wastewater from starch industri.
