  • The experiment was aimed to find out the most productive of polyculture system of milkfish, Chanos chanos Forsk. and seaweed, Gracilaria verrucosa in brackishwater ponds. Completely randomized design was applied in this experiment. The treatments were monoculture system of milkfish (A = 250 ind. milkfish/2,500 m2), polyculture system (B = 250 ind. milkfish + 125 kg seaweed/2,500 m2), and C (250 ind. milkfish + 250 kg seaweed/2,500 m2). Each treatment was conducted by three replicates. The results showed that the lowest weight gain and production of milkfish was in treatment A (250 ind./2,500 m2) was 170.0 g and 36.7 kg, respectively.
