- The interaction between aflatoxin and DDT on vitamin A content of the serum altogether with the histopathology of liver had been investigated using 54 Rattus norwegicus. The 3 x 3 factorial design was conducted to evaluate the vitamin A status in the serum using 6 experimental animal per cell. The level of either DDT and aflatoxin were consisted of 0,50 and 100 ppb, and the experiment was terminated after 8 weeks. The body weight was recorded every week and the data would be executed using split-plot technique. The blood samples were collected from the medial ophthalmic vein and the liver were take for the histopathologic examination. The result indicate that there is no difference of body weight for all of the experimental units. Highly significant interaction (p < 0,01) were seem between DDT and allatorin producing a low vitamin A content of the serum. Histopathologix examinations of the liver do not yield any significant finding. Key words: aflatoxin - DDT - vitamin A - histopatology of liver
