- The research on dialect geography of Minangkabau in Kabupaten Sawahlunto-Sijunjung is considered important, because it is immediately bordered to the area in which the Jambi language is spoken. Such a circumstance, considerably permits a direct contact among the two speech communities occur as to bring about the two neighbouring isolects mutually influence each other.The research is also to make an attempt of describing and classifying different linguistic elements in the areas of phonetic-phonology, morphology, and lexicon aspects that exist in Minangkabau language in the Kabupaten Sawahlunto-Sijurijung. Besides, the research also describes both identical and partially 'donne' found at point of observation 8 with Jambi language.The methodology employed in collecting the data, in the research, is listening and speaking (interviewing) methods. The data are acquired from 24 informants who fulfil the requirement of particular criteria. They are taken from 8 points of observation of which the particular criteria has been fulfilled as well.-The data collected are analyzed based on identity method.The research of the statistical data analysis comes to the conclusion that there exist 5 different dialects in the Minangkabau language spoken in Kabupaten Sawahlunto-Sijunjung, where as 3 other points of observation is subdialectis difference. The description of isolect at the point of observation 8 with Jambi language being about 141 'donne which are identical, 93 'donne' out of which are found in Minangkabau language as well, the other similar 'donne' are found as many as 48 findings.
