- ABSTRACT This research was design to investigate, (1) the impact of soybean price, (2) the impact of substitute commodity prices, and (3) the impact of social economic factors of the fanner onto soybean supply in Lombok Tengah Regency (the Central Lombok Regency). The data was collected by using the cross-sectional data and time-series data The cross-section data was collected by interviewing eigthy (80) samples of farmers which were randomly distributed in four villages in Middle of Lombok Regency. For analysing the cross-sectional data, the multiple linear regression (MLR) was used. Using the MLR, then the impact of social economic factors of farmers on soybean supply was found. There is a significantly different on income of soybean farmers compared with the income on substitute commodities. Also the fanner who has experience longer in the soybean field and has education level higher then others, supply more soybean in Middle of Lombok Regency. The series data was collected from the record of government agencies such as from the Bureau of Statistics (BPS, the Regional office of Department of Agriculture in the Central Lombok, and related government agencies. The information collected from the year 1972 to 1989 (18 years) were soybean price, the year of paddy Go:go Rancah system and price consumption index. By using the time series information then the MLR analyses and the Cobb- Douglass (C-D) function was run. By using the C-D the impact of soybean price and the impact of other prices of substitute commodities were analysed. The result of the research has shown that the soybean price was positively and significantly influenced the supply of soybean. The other substitute commodity prices were also negatively significant to the supply of soybean. On the other hand the social economic factors, which were consisting the different on income, the farmer's experience and the farmer's educational level were consisting the different on income, the farmer's experience and the farmer's educational level were positively influencing the soybean supply in Central Lombok.
