- ABSTRACT For hand tractor, it is desirable to mount an implement to give good tractive stability and constant large draft of tractor. For this purpose the application of the most simple feed-back system combined a measuring and controlling system on the tractor-plow hitching method was studied. The plow was designed swingable around a pin. A spring was put between the hitching system such that correspond to the change of draft, the pitch of the plow was automatically controlled. The stability of the system was observed based on the hunting occure in the system. Hurwit - Routh stability conditions was used as a reference. The experiment were conducted in both laboratory and field. The results proved that using the spring control mounting system the maximum depth was deeper than the ordinary mounting, and the plow went faster to its tillage depth. The system could responce the low frequency variation caused by the variation of soil condition, soil hardness or the variation of tillage depth by phase angle lags about 90°. In an actual application the phase lag may be overcomed with the large mass of soil and velocity of tractor. If resonance frequency coo is made smaller, the gain becomes slightly larger and at resonance point the hunting becomes larger. In order to avoid the hunting, the resonance frequency of system ok, should be larger than the frequency of soil resistance. Key :words : spring control, mounting, stability
