  • When there is a problem in the relationships between central and localgovernment, power is very common to be used to settle down the dispute. The centralgovernment usually relies on the law as the main instrument to retain theirpower, while the localgovernment, on the other hand, alit/6s used autonomy rights --which are now in their handâ�� to realise theirpolitical interests. In this article the author, on the basis of theoretical perspectives, tries to describe the power sharing between central and local government in Indonesia By doing so, the author wants to answer the question such as why did Indonesian government choose decentralisation policy and what is the consequences of this choice, particularly the dispute between central and localgovernment.
