- The investigation was carried out by applying the impulse and alternating current voltages to the insulation of NYY and NYFGbY cables. The dimensions of the cables selected were 4 x 10 mm2 for 0.6/1 kV. The result of the research shows that the dielectric strength of the cable insulation under impulse voltage was 15 % higher than that under alternating current voltage.
